Just because Jennifer Lawrence and Eddie Redmayne are Hollywood elite doesn't mean their families are perfect. The two Academy Award winners went on The Graham Norton Show Thursday, where they revealed the many ways their families have embarrassed them at high profile awards shows.

Lawrence and Redmayne both frequently bring their parents and brothers along with them to events at which they are nominated. Redmayne says that he took his mom along to the 2010 Tony Awards where he was nominated for Best Featured Actor in a Play, but had to give her a little advice beforehand.

He laughingly recalls, "I said, 'Mom, what happens at these things is they come up with cameras and look at your face, so when I don't win, you can't look really angry.'"

Redmayne did win though, and explained his mom's hilarious reaction, saying, "I was so elated, but I had given such a grilling to [my mom] that she just sort of sat there and didn't react."

Redmayne then deadpans his mom's stoic face, and jokes, "I was like, 'Mom, I won!'"

Lawrence can relate, as the actress details the time she brought her brother to an awards show and he embarrassed her. She says, "I had to kick my brother out from awards season because he tried to arm wrestle Matthew McConaughey... who was not into it."

She says it was mostly embarrassing because the incident occurred when she was being nominated for her first film, Winter's Bone, and "nobody knew who [she] was."

In the clip, which can be viewed below, Lawrence also details the "breakdown" she had the night she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in the film Silver Linings Playbook. The actress famously tripped going up the stairs to receive her award that night.

Lawrence and Redmayne are both in the running for Oscar nominations again this year for their work in Joy and The Danish Girl, respectively.
