Bollywood suave actor, Hrithik Roshan, who is currently busy in shooting Ashutosh Gowariker's upcoming period drama Monenjo Daro, will start preparing for his next thriller, Thug, which is said to be the Indian adaptation of Pirates of The Caribbean.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) is currently working on two action films, Dhoom 4 and Thug. The story of Thug has been kept under wraps as Hrithik will start shooting in the first quarter of 2016. A source close to YRF is quoted by DNA India as saying that Thug is going to be a fantasy film, set against a fictional historical settings.

"It (Thug) revolves around the adventures of a dashing pirate captain (Hrithik) and his crew. Hrithik's character is something like Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and what he plays in the Pirates Of The Caribbean (POTC) series. As Aditya Chopra has made a successful franchise of the Dhoom series, the idea is to make a Thug series if the first one is successful. Roshan is excited about playing a swashbuckling pirate, something he hasn't done before. He has been sitting through various look tests with Victor (director) and Adi. The shooting of Thug will begin from January next year."

In other news, it is reported that Roshan is also going to star in a feature film which is produced by his father, Rakesh Roshan, in a project helmed by Sanjay Gupta. However, the film is currently facing troubles because of the casting. There were earlier reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan would star along side Hrithik but things did not work out. Now there were talks of Parineeti Chopra to star alongside the actor, but according to Spotboye, even Chopra has rejected the offer to star opposite Hrithik as her dates for March 2016 have been booked for a different Yash Raj Films project.
