Munnabhai MBBS director Rajkumar Hirani is all set to direct a biopic on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's life. Tamasha star Ranbir Kapoor has already signed the contract to play the onscreen Dutt. There was buzz that Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut will also have a major roles in the film, and while we're not so sure if Padukone is on board one thing is certain: the latter has not been approached by the filmmaker.

There was gossip that Ranaut has been spotted at Hirani's house in Mumbai with a script in hand but now the actress has cleared all the rumours swirling around her and Hirani's project. At a recent public event, when it was asked about her collaboration with Hirani, the Tanu Weds Manu Returns actress was quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying:

"I don't want to be disrespectful to Raju (Hirani) sir, but the truth is I have not been been approached for this film. I am busy on Rangoon at the moment."

There were further reports that suggested Ranaut and her manager were furious over the rumors that she will play the role of Dutt's wife, Manyata, in the upcoming biopic. "Kangana feels she doesn't want to be part of the controversy, but others can't quote her and release press releases," a source told to the Deccan Chronicle.

On the other hand, Kapoor is undergoing a physical transformation for the project. When in a recent press event, he was asked about his training session for Hirani's upcoming film. The actor was quoted by DNA India as responding:

"I still don't know how much I will have to pile on. When me and Raju sir sit down for discussion, maybe we will talk about it and I would know exactly how much weight I have to gain."

In other Bollywood news, Ranaut is currently busy in shooting Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon, in which she will share screen with Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Along with that, 2016 is a very busy year for Ranaut as she has several films lined up this year, including Simran, Lakshmi Bai, Circus, Amrita and Divine Lovers.
