Beyonce appears to have been bitten by the acting bug recently. In fact, the wife to Jay Z has just given her Beyhive hope that she will one day win an Oscar. Bey is set to star and take part in writing the script for the upcoming biopic film about Saartjie Baartman, a South African slave.

Vibe reports, "Saarjtie Baartman was a South African woman enslaved by a Dutch farmer in the early 1800s. Her captor's brother and military surgeon displayed her in the freak show in London, Egyptian Hall of Piccadilly Circus, showcasing her unfamiliar frame, which was characterized by her large butt and curves. The film will depict her life leading up to her death in 1815."

From the synopsis of the film, it is sure to be one to put on your list.

The topic of the movie is heavy but also gives the idea that Mrs. Carter appears to be passionate about the story. Especially since it has been reported by The Sun that along with starring in the film, Beyonce will be taking part in writing the script.

How many awards can Beyonce cross off her list if this movie does well?

Sad to say, there are some people who are not happy about Bey's new role. Chief Jean Burgess of the First Indigenous Peoples of South Africa has voiced his disdain by saying Beyonce shows her arrogance in her attempt to tell a story that is not hers, Vibe reports.

Burgess goes on to say, "She lacks the basic human dignity to be worthy of writing Sarah's story, let alone playing the part," he said, according to South African news site News24. "Ignoring the fact that the KhoiKhoi is alive and that Sarah's story would have an impact on how we are portrayed, is a mistake of great magnitude."

Beyonce has not confirmed the role.
