'Daredevil' Season 2 Netflix Release Date Clashes with 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice?'

This year, DC is looking to expand its cinematic universe with two big releases, namely Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad.  However, the ever-growing Marvel Studios aren't about to pass the baton so easily, as rumor has it that Netflix is releasing the Daredevil Season 2 on the same date as the fight between the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel, setting up a clash between Marvel and DC for fans.

For weeks, there have been rumors that the second season of the Marvel Netflix show would come earlier than expected, and now Comic Book is reporting that Charlie Cox's comeback as Matt Murdock will reportedly be on March 25, 2016, the same day Warner Bros. scheduled months back for Zack Snyder's Dawn of Justice.

While Netflix hasn't officially announced a release date for the second season of their hit Marvel Cinematic Universe series, it could make sense in the grander scheme of things, in a year where both franchises are releasing films with very similar stories: Dawn of Justice sees the two biggest names in DC, Batman and Superman, fight, while Captain America: Civil War faces the two most popular superheroes in Marvel movies, Steve Rogers and Iron Man.

Besides, as GameSpot reports, moving Daredevil up would also mean it won't clash with the release of Civil War, the next in line in the MCU films, due out next May.

Also, due to the show's darker tone, Daredevil has been compared to the Dark Knight quite a few times -- and, of course, the new Batman actor, Ben Affleck, did play Matt Murdock in that absolutely awful adaptation over a decade ago.

While undoubtedly big fans of DC and Marvel will definitely make time to watch both Daredevil and Dawn of Justice on the same weekend, but how will this move affect more casual fans, especially considering the Marvel show doesn't require purchasing a ticket nor even leaving the house?

We await confirmation for the official date of Daredevil Season 2 on Netflix.
