Samuel L. Jackson is known for many things, among them having one of the most iconic deliveries ever to grace the screen. Knowing that, Stephen Colbert challenged Jackson on The Late Show to create his own version of some of the most iconic catchphrases ever – and, of course, he put everyone to shame.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Academy Award-nominated actor popped by the late night show to promote his latest film with Quentin Tarantino, Hateful Eight, and Colbert had the brilliant idea of having him read a few movie quotes.

"The thing about Sam Jackson is that he can make anything his own," said Colbert. "And I've got a series of catchphrases right here. They're famous catchphrases. They're pre-Samuel L. Jackson, but I believe that if you perform these in your own inimitable way, they will be yours forever, regardless of how they originated."

Of course, the logic behind this was pretty solid seeing as Jackson might just be the most badass person in existence. In the clip below, the actor Jackson-izes the most iconic lines of classics like Gone with the Wind, The Graduate and even The Princess Bride and Dirty Dancing.

How satisfying was listening to Jackson saying, "Don't put Baby in a corner!" just now?

As VH1 reports, Colbert was obviously pretty psyched to have the Pulp Fiction star on his show, and he'd really thought through everything he could make Jackson say in his madly iconic voice ... including recording the most amazing outgoing voice message ever.

Of course, these are just a few additions to a lengthy and fantastic list: Jackson's voice and use of expletives has earned him his own place in the sun, whether he's quoting Bible verses to thugs right before he kills then; yelling about reptiles on aircrafts or even wondering how is it that Jamie Foxx is on a horse at a Deep South plantation.
