Although Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has not yet been released, Zack Snyder has just confirmed that the superhero ensemble film Justice League is already in the works. In addition to that, the Man of Steel director has suggested that Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa's Aquaman could be facing a powerful new villain!

Snyder recently spoke to Obsev about working with Cavill and Affleck on Batman v Superman. The 300 director also admitted that his new Warner Bros. flick is already in the works.

"We're working on Justice League right now, right?" Snyder confirmed before adding that the superheroes will be up against a larger threat in the film.

"In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team. Maybe there's a bigger enemy to fight," he said.

There is no doubt that there will be a powerful new villain in the film, a character so strong that even Superman alone could not easily defeat. But who could be stronger than the Man of Steel and smarter than the Dark Knight?

There are already speculations that Darkseid will be the terrifying supervillain who will bring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman together. Fans believe that the character's appearance in the DC Extended Universe was already hinted upon in the latest Batman v Superman trailer, where what looked like his parademons may have been featured.

The new revelation from Snyder may finally shed light on the previous rumors indicating that Doomsday is not the biggest threat in Batman v Superman. There is a possibility that the second villain will be hinted upon in the film but will be the Justice League's major enemy in the future movies.

Dawn of Justice will also star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash and Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg. The first part is scheduled for release in 2017 while Part 2 will follow in 2019.
