'August: Osage County' was recently placed in the Golden Globes Best Motion Picture category. This was not very shocking to film critics and audiences alike. What is more surprising is that this category is specifically for comedies or musicals. The indie film of the year is Short Term 12. Some critics may end up deeming it film of the year, period. Think Diablo Cody's Juno with even more character layers and grit (but still, humor just when you need it). You've seen lead Brie Larson seen in Showtime's The United States of Tara, which is actually created, written and produced by Diablo Cody.
