Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are putting some space between themselves and their family members after the controversy surrounding their brother made its way into the public sphere. After it was revealed that Josh Duggar had been inappropriate with five underage girls, including sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar, the media erupted into a frenzy. Not only was the Duggar's TLC series 19 Kids and Counting put on an indefinite hiatus, with a cancellation most likely coming, Josh also left his job in Washington D.C. and moved home to Arkansas. Not just that but the scandal also affected Josh's in-laws, as Derick quit his job at Wal-Mart and he and Jill are focusing on a new career path now that their reality show is most likely not returning. While many might have thought that pulling the plug on one of most successful series on TLC in the wake of a scandal would only spell trouble for The Learning Channel, however, it seems that the complete opposite was true. Fans of the network were very pessimistic about the future of the channel after pulling two very successful shows, 19 Kids and Counting and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, from the lineup after molestation scandals erupted for both.
