The upcoming remake of the cult classic two-part miniseries It, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name about the murderous clown named Pennywise, has hit some bumps in the road lately. It is still in preproduction but has no release date after original director and writer Cary Fukunaga left the project earlier this year. He has since been replaced by Andy Muschietti and Will Poulter is attached to star as the killer clown, but why did Fukunaga leave? Director Andy Muschietti Replaces Cary Fukunaga on Stephen King's 'It' Remake

Just a few months ago, we were saddened to report the news that writer and director Cary Fukunaga had decided to leave Stephen King's It movie remake project based on the novel about the scary clown named Pennywise. He had been working on the film for a number of years and even decided to cast actor Will Poulter in the iconic role of the killer clown, but disagreements with New Line Cinema studios forced the True Detective episodes director out. Fortunately for us, a new director has been hired and the film isn't going to be cancelled. Mama filmmaker Andy Muschietti is not taking on the highly anticipated project.
