Kendrick Lamar 'Control' Verse: Joey Bada$$ Responds To Diss Track With 'Killuminati Pt. 2' [LISTEN]

By Alex Galbraith, Mstars Reporter | Aug 26, 2013 03:46 PM EDT

Looks like Joey Bada$$ is the latest to respond to a verse that didn't really warrant all that much talk in the first place. You had to expect this, though. Other than A$AP Rocky, no other rapper has been held up as the return of New York hip-hop more than Joey, and his response to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse, "Killuminati Pt. 2" is one of the better ones out there. The streak of "rappers who weren't mentioned by Kendrick Lamar in his "Control" verse" being the only ones to respond to the track is over...kind of. Wale has given TMZ his thoughts on being called out by K-Dot, essentially calling inclusion on the diss track an honor. Read More »

Kendrick Lamar 'Control' Verse: Lupe Fiasco Responds To Diss Track With '#DopeFrancis,' 'SLR 2', Ghostwrites Rebuttals As Jay Z, Rick Ross, Wale, Others On Twitter

By Alex Galbraith, Mstars Reporter | Aug 14, 2013 01:22 PM EDT

While the internet has been aflame over Kendrick Lamar's (actually kind of lackluster...I mean a list of names is an audacious thing to put out, but it's still just a list) verse on Big Sean's "Control," Lupe Fiasco has been busy doing something about it. While Lupe was not explicitly mentioned in the verse that called out Jay Z, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Wale and others, he did release two songs (one seeming to address the controversy directly, the other just a decent song to prove he's still got it) "SLR 2" and "#DopeFrancis." In an interesting take, Lupe tweeted ghostwritten responses to K-Dot's diss in the style of other rappers and it is amazing how spot on they are. Read More »
