One Direction and Katy Perry won the most awards with three, while Taylor Swift took home the Dick Clark Award for Excellence. The "Shake It Off" singer, who has sold more than 2 million copies of her latest album "1989" in less than a month, opened the show with her newest hit "Blank Space."
