Katherine Heigl and Alexis Bledel Star in 'Jenny's Wedding'

By Stephanie Cieplinski | Jul 08, 2015 08:50 AM EDT

Katherine Heigl is to star alongside Alexis Bledel in yet another romantic comedy involving a wedding, except this time the plot involves a lesbian couple coming out to their parents about their impending marriage. The darker context of this film, entitled Jenny's Wedding, and the contemporary struggles that are relatable to gays in the United States appears heart-wrenching and touching to say the least and the timing of the film's release couldn't be better with the Supreme Court's ruling on legalizing same-sex marriage in all fifty of the United States. '19 Kids & Counting' Gay Scandal: Lesbian Couple Kissing In Jim Bob, Michelle's Front Yard

By Mitch Thorpe, Mstars News writer | Jan 15, 2015 12:57 PM EST

It looks like the Duggars have found themselves in a little bit of drama surrounding their stance on gay rights. The "19 Kids & Counting" family, which includes members Jessa and Jill Duggar and parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, found themselves in an LGBT controversy last year after deleting pictures of same-sex couples kissing that were posted to their Facebook account. While they might be able to delete the pictures in cyberspace, they aren't able to censor it in the real world. The family realized this when an LGBT couple showed up to their Arkansas home and snapped a picture in their front yard sharing a loving kiss. Lesbian couple Tandra Barnfield and Samantha Muzny were on vacation at their cousin's house in Arkansas when they decided to stop for a picture in front of the TLC reality family's house. Tandra then posted the picture to her Instagram account to share with the world. Read More »

'19 Kids & Counting': TLC Forced To Cancel Show? Michelle Duggar Posts Petition To Save Series

By Larry Abuliak | Nov 23, 2014 11:37 AM EST

The "19 Kids & Counting" family the Duggars have been in a storm of controversy ever since they decided to delete photos of same-sex couples kissing on their Facebook page. Then matriarch Michelle Duggar asked Fayetteville, Arkansas, residents in a robocall to vote to repeal a law that grants equal housing to transgender people. This led to a petition to cancel the TLC series, but now there's a counter-petition to keep it on the air. Michelle posted a link on her Facebook page to the ipetitions.com appeal that says, "The Duggar Family is under attack from anti-marriage advocates for standing for traditional marriage. We commend The Duggar Family for their brave stand in defending marriage as ordained by God between one man and one woman. No individual's sexual behavior and chosen lifestyle has the right to redefine marriage. "Sign our petition today to let TLC know that you support the Duggars' stand for traditional marriage." The pro-Duggars petition has garnered more than 49,000 signatures, but it doesn't come close to the anti-Duggars petition, which has more than 156,000 supporters. As "MStars News" reported, the change.org petition started when LGBT activist Jim Wissick of San Jose, California, was fed up with the TLC family's constant efforts to undermine the LGBT community.
