Lady Gaga: 'ARTPOP' App Not Subject To Same #NewRules As Jay Z's 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' In-App Sales Of Mother Monster's New Album Will Count

As with all things in life, the #NewRules don't apply to everybody. That's what Billboard editorial director Bill Werde said on Twitter, anyway. Lady Gaga's in-app sales will count toward her ARTPOP sales total unlike Jay-Z, whose Magna Carta Holy Grail was released via a free app and paid for by Samsung.
