Lauryn Hill was recently released from prison. And she's certainly been keeping busy. First, she released a new song called "Consumerism." Then, she petitioned a judge to postpone her three months of house arrest so that she could go on tour (and it looks like she will get it). Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill is a free woman. After serving almost three months in prison, Hill was released today (Oct. 4) from a facility in Danbury, Conn., according to TMZ. Hill had been serving time since July 8 in a minimum-security prison for tax evasion for money she earned between 2005 and 2007. Reports confirm that after serving out a two-year jail sentence, rapper Ja Rule was just released from a New York federal prison on Tuesday morning (May 7). The popular musician/actor (real name, Jeffrey Atkins) was charged with attempted illegal gun possession and tax evasion back in 2011 (sentences which he concurrently served).
