Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill is a free woman. After serving almost three months in prison, Hill was released today (Oct. 4) from a facility in Danbury, Conn., according to TMZ. Hill had been serving time since July 8 in a minimum-security prison for tax evasion for money she earned between 2005 and 2007. Reports confirm that after serving out a two-year jail sentence, rapper Ja Rule was just released from a New York federal prison on Tuesday morning (May 7). The popular musician/actor (real name, Jeffrey Atkins) was charged with attempted illegal gun possession and tax evasion back in 2011 (sentences which he concurrently served).
