Besides the fact that a new, third season of Twin Peaks officially being announced to premiere on Showtime with 18 new episodes and David Lynch returning to the project after leaving early on in production, the project is full of bad news recently. It was heartbreaking when Lynch left, but his return might have caused some delays. The rebooted Twin Peaks TV show from David Lynch and Mark Frost just got a bit more exciting because star Kyle MacLachlan has officially joined the cast of the Showtime series. Reprising his role as Special Agent Dale Cooper on the cult classic series that made him an iconic figure for generations, the current star of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will return to the scene of the crime in 2016 for season 3, 25 years after Cooper had the dream of Laura Palmer telling him that she'd see him again in that same amount of time!
