Yo Gotti has teamed up with major label Epic for his latest release I Am and, while Gotti always pulled in top-of-the-line talent on his Memphis-based CMG label, the major connection helped the "Act Right" rapper grab a who's who of rap for the full-length. Read More »

Twerking is kind of having a moment right now. In spite of existing for over 20 years as a regularly used term, it recently entered the public lexicon thanks to a raunchy performance by Miley Cyrus at the VMAs. Hoping to capitalize on the trend, Wale has released "Clappers," an ode to bootyshaking with an appropriately honey-filled video. Joining him for the track are noted booty-clapper Nicki Minaj and professional twerk judge Juicy J. Read More »
Wale's "No Pain, No Gain" hit the net last night and it's...pretty bad. I hate to trash The Gifted rapper as he's put out some unadulterated classics in the last few years (plus, "LoveHate Thing" is my jam), but everything about this track -reportedly from a Robert Griffin III- documentary is over-the-top cheesy. In an interesting take, Lupe tweeted ghostwritten responses to K-Dot's diss in the style of other rappers and it is amazing how spot on they are. Read More »
Technically, "Control" is Big Sean's new track off of his upcoming release, "Hall of Fame, " but the song is getting a lot of buzz for a guest track by Kendrick Lamar. The young rapper has literally stolen this song in just one verse and that was his intentions if you pay attention to the lyrics. Lamar pretty much calls out every big name in the younger rap generation today, saying he is gunning for the top and won't be easily pushed aside. Read More »
