'Key and Peele' Star Keegan Michael Key Filed for Divorce From Wife Cynthia Blaise

Key and Peele comedian Keegan Michael Key has filed for divorce from his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Blaise. The comedian filed for divorce on New Years Eve, citing irreconcilable differences. Key and Blaise have no children together. Key's divorce news comes on the heels of his Key and Peele costar Jordan Peele's engagement.

The 44-year-old comedian reportedly filed divorce papers on New Year's Eve to end his 17-year-marriage to 57-year-old Blaise.

People reports that the couple actually separated in November, which was just weeks after the couple walked the red carpet together at the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards in September.

TMZ reports that the comedian has requested that the court determine the amount of spousal support to Blaise at a later date.

Key first became known for his great impersonations on MadTV before landing his own Comedy Central show, Key and Peele, alongside Jordan Peele.

Blaise, who is an actress and voice dialect teacher, has previously starred on Key and Peele in the sketch "Meditations on Yoga" as a cougar.

The couple married in December 1998, after meeting at the Detroit Repertory Theatre.

The news of Key's divorce comes after his comedy buddy Peele, 36, became engaged to comedian Chelsea Peretti, 37, in November.

The 37-year-old Brooklyn Nine-Nine star announced her engagement on Twitter.
