Johnny Manziel and LeBron James are known to be buddies, but even their personal relationship couldn't salvage their business one. James' marketing agency, LRMR, dropped the Cleveland Browns quarterback as a client. The firm explained their decision, saying that the direction of the company is taking them away from individual clients to instead shift toward a broader focus, but Manziel's continuous off-the-field mishaps could have only aided in that decision.

Manziel began the year as the starting quarterback before losing the job for a lack of command, both on and off the field. He would go on to regain the position later in the year, however, a concussion ruled him out of the last game of the year. On the final Sunday of the regular season, Manziel missed a mandatory concussion protocol session amid reports he had spent the night before in Las Vegas. The game was played in Cleveland.

"We've decided to end our formal business relationship with Johnny," Maverick Carter, a business partner and longtime friend of James's, said Wednesday via cleveland.com.

"I will continue to support and advise him as a friend," continued Carter. "However because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth, the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision that it was best to terminate our business relationship."

When James was asked about Manziel's recent off-the-field escapades, he had this to say:

"I'm not quite sure, I don't know all the details on it," said James. "I've really kind of haven't been all up on it, but I've heard a little of it. It's just a distraction for not only himself, but for everyone that's around him, including family, people that represent him, the people that are around him. And he'll figure it out at some point. We all hope."

And while Manziel has already lost one business venture, it appears that he may lose another, as the Cleveland Browns have grown increasingly tiresome with the off-the-field "antics" of the former first round pick.
