Star Wars: The Force Awakens had its share of memorable characters, but Finn is undoubtedly one of the film's best scene-stealers we want to see more of in Episode VIII. And it looks like we will be seeing a whole lot more of him. John Boyega, who played the rogue Stormtrooper, has just confirmed that he has already read the script for the Rian Johnson movie and offered a tiny hint on what to look forward to.

Boyega recently spoke to Vogue, where he admitted that he loved the idea of working on the new film.

"It's great," Boyega said of the Episode VIII script, adding, "Much darker, but we're very excited."

Although the actor didn't explain what he meant about the script, fans are already expecting the film to take on a darker tone following the death of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and the inevitable training of Rey (Daisy Ridley) as a Jedi.

But what's in store for Finn? Will he join the Resistance and fight alongside his newfound BFF Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac)? Or will he follow Rey to train with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)?

"My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more," Boyega admitted.

It certainly sounds like Finn will be right in the middle of the action in Episode VIII. It was recently reported that Boyega has been helping with the screen test of actresses auditioning for an important role in the film.

In addition to bringing back Finn, Rey and the rest of our beloved characters from The Force Awakens, Episode VIII will also star Benicio del Toro and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The Sicario actor will reportedly portray a new villain while Mbatha-Raw has been cast as one of the female leads in the film.

Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for release on 2017.
