'Person of Interest' Season 5: Will Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson's Episodes Premiere Spring?

Season 5 of Person of Interest will definitely return to CBS sometime in 2016. Will the upcoming 13 episodes, featuring John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) premiere "sometime in the spring?"

In our fourth season finale recap, the war between the Machine and Samaritan left casualties and forged new alliances in its wake. After presumed dead, Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) was last seen walking away willingly with Samaritan's agents. While Samaritan was executing its master plan, Greer's men put a bag over Control (Camryn Manheim)'s head and took her hostage. In the cliff-hanger, as Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine started playing, Harold Finch walked out, with no gun, alongside Reese and Root (Amy Acker) as they started shooting down Samaritan's agents.

As we previously mentioned, Glee actress Jane Lynch hosted the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 6 on CBS. Person of Interest in fact did win for Favorite TV Crime Drama. On her official twitter account, Amy Acker (Root) tweets, "More proof that #PersonOfInterest has the best fans ever! #PeoplesChoiceAwards Thank you so much! Can't wait for you to see season 5!"

After a major win, you would think a premiere date would be announced finally?

According to IGN, during the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, CBS president Glenn Geller states, ""Person of interest, we ordered 13 episodes. We hope to get them on this spring. Greg [Plageman] and Jonah [Nolan] have planned a terrific season. I can't wait for fans of the show to see it. It'll be a real treat for viewers."

When asked what does "we hope," Geller replied if that meant the show would air sometime in the summer, ""We will air Person of Interest this spring,"

As TV Line speculates, the final day of spring is Sunday, June 19. So we may have to wait until June for an official air date?
