Eddard "Ned" Stark may have been killed off in the first season of Game of Thrones, but fans still can't stop talking about the character's possible return to the HBO TV series. The speculations have even reached Sean Bean, who played the former Lord of Winterfell, and he has finally spoken up about Ned's possible return on the show.

During an interview on Larry King Now, Bean responded to a fan question if he would be interested in working on a Game of Thrones prequel show or return to the series itself.

"I don't know, there've been talks of Ned Stark coming back. I don't know how he could come back," Bean said before considering one possible way for the character to return.

"In flashbacks yeah, maybe with someone a bit younger than me," he said.

There have been speculations that Ned could appear in one of Bran Stark's flashback scenes featuring the Tower of Joy, which will reveal what exactly happened to his sister Lyanna before her death. Fans believe that a younger actor will portray Ned in the scene, which also requires some swordfighting.

And since it has become a standard question for Game of Thrones actors, King asked Bean if he knows anything about Jon Snow's fate.

"I don't," the Lord of the Rings star responded. "Everybody keeps thinking I know. Probably because I'm supposed to be his dad, but I don't really know."

Interestingly, Bean has previously stated that he knew that Ned is not the father of Kit Harington's character and is looking forward to seeing the truth behind the boy's lineage finally revealed on Game of Thrones. Is it possible that a certain theory was right all along about the identity of Jon Snow's parents?

Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere on HBO on April 24.
