Janet Hubert, the first Aunt Viv in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, recently took to YouTube to talk about the 2016 Oscars boycott organized by Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee. In the clip, the actress says this is "karma" for Will Smith's behavior towards fellow stars during the show, plus asking his wife whether he was unable to talk for himself.

According to E! Online, in the video, Hubert disses her former co-star as well as his wife of nearly 20 years, calling them out for being hypocritical. Among her harsh words, Hubert asks Pinkett Smith if her husband has a "mouth of his own" now that she's speaking for him, after the Independence Day actor was denied what would have been his third Academy Award nomination.

"Girlfriend, there's a lot of sh*t going on in the world that you all don't seem to recognize," Hubert says in the clip. "People are dying. Our boys are being shot left and right. People are starving. People are trying to pay bills. And you're talking about some [expletive] actors and Oscars. It just ain't that deep."

Hubert also called out her former co-star for turning his back on the rest of the Fresh Prince cast when they were asking for a raise, to which Smith reportedly responded that "my deal is my deal, your deal is your deal." Famously, Hubert was fired from the show and replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid, and she has been feuding with Smith ever since, The Wrap reports.

Smith was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Concussion, but when it was time for the Oscars nominations ballot, the actor was snubbed, as the Academy nominated only white actors for the second year in a row. Other performances like Idris Elba's in Beasts of No Nation was also denied a spot among the nominees.

In a statement issued through People magazine, Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, a black woman herself, said that she was "both heartbroken and frustrated" for what has been called #OscarsSoWhite in social media. Isaacs also said that the Academy was taking further measures to expand the diversity of their voters to be more representative and broaden future nominations.
