View co-host Whoopi Goldberg spoke out today on the Oscars' lack of diversity -- and her anger that the subject is only discussed once a year, just before the Academy Awards telecast.

They don't call it "hot topics" for nothing, and today's View segment delivered. Goldberg told the panel and audience the lack of diverse nominees "pisses me off." She also expressed frustration that no one in Hollywood discusses the issue outside of awards season.

"Why is this a conversation we only have once a year?" she said. "Because every year we get all fired up, and the rest of the year nobody says anything."

Toward the end of the segment, Goldberg addressed the possible boycott of the Oscars being discussed by stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee.

"Boycotting doesn't work," Goldberg said. She also said the move would be "a slap in the face to [Oscars host] Chris Rock."

"Chris Rock is the host of the Academy Awards, and so to boycott him seems just as bad as what everybody is saying. We have this conversation every year and it pisses me off." Goldberg said instead she will  "bitch" all year about the issue.

Although all the women were there for the discussion, Candace Cameron Bure was noticeably absent after the commercial break. Goldberg explained that Bure felt ill, and emphasized that Bure did not want people to think she walked off due to the discussion. The Fuller House star later sent a Tweet confirming that: "I left the show today b/c I didnt feel well, not because of the discussion. Saw the Doctor- low blood sugar & tested positive for fluB."
