Fox airs the highly anticipated premiere of The X-Files Revival. In Season 10, episode 1, special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) return to solve the mystery behind an alien crash in My Struggle [Part 1].

After Milder recounts his personal history and the cover-up of alien abductions, it's the 1940s, as a bus heads into the desert.  A man in black and scientist head straight towards the Roswell alien crash. In the present, Scully gets a call from Skinner. Mulder is watching a news clip of Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale), who's desperate to meet with him.

Muler and Scully meet in the streets, but they're not too happy to see each other. Tad meets with the two, and explains why he needs their expertise. Tad needs their help to uncover the greatest conspiracy the world has ever known. They end up meeting with Seta (Annet Mahendru), who is an alien abductee.

Seta shows them her naval scars, which hint at alien harvesting. She was impregnated her and the aliens took her baby; claiming to have alien DNA. Back in the 1940s, the scientist discovers the black ooze. The military soldiers and the man in black start shooting at the alien before it crawls away.

During Sveta's medical test, Scully openly says she doesn't believe her claims. Sveta reveals Mulder has been depressed, which led to their breakup. She gets upset when Sveta mentions William. Tad takes Mulder to a secret site, where the scientists have made an alien ship replica. Back in the 40s, the scientist carries the dead extraterrestrial in his arms.

Tad arrives at the hospital and tells Scully that Mulder wanted to see her again. Mulder shows up at Sveta's  home and talks about her memories. She's afraid things will only get worse; men took her babies. Mulder realizes there is no alien conspiracy; Sveta is the key to the lies they have been told.

Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) opens the door to Mulder's abandoned office. Mulder rips apart the poster, realizing he failed. As Skinner reminds Mulder to do something, Scully checks the best results. Mulder meets with his contact, the scientist from the 40s, warns him that his life is at stake. Roswell was misdirection for the real conspiracy.

Mulder and Scully argue; saving the world will be his undoing. After their argument, Scully abandons Mulder and walks back to her car. Though Tad convinces Scully to stay, Mulder explains humans have been working on alien hybrids. Tad believes the government has been hoarding alien technology for a darker threat.

Scully believes what Tad and Mulder are doing is treason. Scully reveals Sveta has no alien DNA. Seta reveals to the press  that Tad paid her to say she was abducted. The military shows up at the secret site and blows up the alien ship. As Mulder finds Sveta missing, Scully discovers Tad's site has gone down.

Scully finds a message that says, "Don't Give Up," on her car. Scully tells Mulder that she and Sveta have a matching genome because they are alien abductees. A real alien ship then shows up, blowing up Sveta and her car.

After Mulder and Scully receive a message from Skinner, the Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis) gets a call, telling him the X-Files has been reopened.
