Patrick Dempsey might have had a stressful 2015, as not only was he killed off from his TV series, Grey's Anatomy, but his wife Jillian Fink also filed for divorce from him. However, it looks like 2016 is starting off to be pretty good, as a reconciliation between him and his wife has been in the works, as well as a possible vow renewal that could happen in the near future.

According to Radar Online, the stars, who have been married for 16-years, are reportedly in such a good place that Dempsey has asked her to renew their vows, as a gesture that they are moving forward in their union.

The site is reporting that friends and family members who are close to the couple couldn't be happier for the pair, as they embark on this new chapter together.

However, there is on condition to Fink accepting the proposal, and that is that Dempsey not spend so much time with his car racing hobby.

"It's incredibly exciting for all their friends and family, but Jillian wouldn't never have accepted unless he agreed to slow down on his motorsports racing," an insider explained to the site.  "Patrick thinks it's a shame to have to quit racing," the source noted.  However, "he's determined to not mess things up," according to International Business Times.

While he wants to go all in, and start back up where they left off, Fink isn't ready to erase the past and hoping to take things slow this time around.  "It was devastating when they split and he's still not out of the woods yet," a source explained, according to WetPaint. "Jillian wants to take things slow, as though they were dating for the first time, and rebuild from scratch before renewing their vows."
