We are learning more about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice every day, and it turns out that the film could be more than just two superheroes going up against each other. Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill have just revealed that the Caped Crusader will be joining forces with another major DC character to defeat the Man of Steel, and it is none other than Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg)!

In an interview with Empire magazine (via Comic Book Resources), Cavill revealed that BvS will actually show the origins of the rivalry between Luthor and Superman. However, Clark Kent initially isn't aware that Luthor is out to get Kal-El.

"Clark knows who this Lex Luthor chap is, but he certainly wouldn't assume that he had any bad intentions," Cavill said.

Unfortunately, Luthor isn't as unassuming as Clark expects him to be. In the film, the villain actually teams up with a vigilante who doesn't trust Superman: The Dark Knight, who is being investigated by Clark for his newspaper The Daily Planet.

However, this doesn't mean that either Bruce or Luthor have any other agenda than simply saving the world. Well, at least not Bruce. Affleck confirmed that Batman and Superman have similar intentions and are simply not seeing the other side of each other's story.

"Rather than just Alien v Predator, where you have two monsters and they're gonna fight, you have two people who really, truly believe they are doing something heroic and necessary in their conflict," he said.

But Batman v Superman is not just about fighting. It turns out that Clark's relationship with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) has evolved since Man of Steel. Cavill also admitted that the two are already living together at the beginning of BvS, although life isn't perfect for the both of them.

"It's not a normal relationship. How could it be? One of them is an alien," he said.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will finally premiere on March 25.
