It certainly didn't take long for Lucasfilm and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to take control of the unexpected leaks of the new LEGO video game for Episode VIII. The game LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has officially been announced through a hilarious teaser as well as an impressive poster!

The announcement teaser opens with Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) declaring, "There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?" But instead of John Boyega suddenly popping out of the desert, it is LEGO Finn who jumps up and checks his ringing alarm clock before walking away. The familiar scene featuring BB-8 rolling over the sands of Jakku is given a new treatment as the droid crashes into a sandcastle and LEGO Kylo Ren almost loses it when his crossguard lightsaber malfunctions as he tries for a dramatic entrance.

The accompanying poster is a brilliant LEGO version of the film's official poster complete with a tiny Maz Kanata and the looming Starkiller Base in the background.

Both the teaser and trailer don't give away too much about the gameplay, which actually includes Blaster Battles, where the players can interact with their surroundings and use them for cover. Multi-Builds will allow gamers to make use of LEGO bricks to create bridges.

In addition to that, players can choose just about any The Force Awakens character for their game. The options include Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Poe Dameron, BB-8, Chewbacca and more. The game will also feature interactive content that will cover events that happened in Return of the Jedi.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is developed by TT Games and will be available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, 4 and Vita, Wii U as well as Nintendo 3DS. The game is currently available for pre-ordering but will be released on June 28.
