One of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year is the film adaptation of Ubisoft's most popular videogame Assassin's Creed. However, unlike most big-budget flicks, Michael Fassbender has just confirmed that the movie will feature minimal special effects and will rely on the skill of the stunt men. In addition to that, Fassbender's character Callum Lynch will be taking the "leap of faith!"

In an interview with Empire magazine (via ComicBook.com), Fassbender shared his filming experience in Malta, where the stunt team took center stage.

"We have stunt guys jumping across buildings in Valletta," he confirmed before admitting that the film has employed a talented gymnast and stuntman to execute the game's signature move.

"We've got Damian Walters doing a 120-foot leap of faith, without any rope, into a bag," Fassbender shared. "It's pretty incredible to see."

The "leap of faith" looks exactly as it sounds. In the game, an assassin can dive from a tower or tall building and land without injury in a haystack. If it's still pretty hard to imagine, take a look at the video below.

It's highly unlikely that Fassbender himself will be taking a leap, so it is possible that Walters is his stunt double, who took the "leap of faith" for the actor.

In addition to the death-defying stunts that will be seen in Assassin's Creed, director Justin Kurzel decided to film in locations like Spain and London.

"There's very little green screen in this, which is highly unusual in these films," Fassbender said.

In Assassin's Creed, Fassbender will portray Lynch in the present day as well as his ancestor Aguilar in the 15th Century. The film will switch between timelines as Lynch learns about his heritage and the skills he will need to become an Assassin.

Assassin's Creed will leap into theaters on December 21.
