Rapper DMX Found Near-Death in Yonkers, New York Hotel Parking Lot: Drug Overdose or Asthma?

DMX was discovered unconscious in Yonkers, New York, on Monday night in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn. The 45-year-old rapper did not have a pulse and was not breathing; TMZ claimed he suffered a drug overdose, but the DMX's reps insist he suffered an asthma attack.

Lt. McCormack of the Yonkers Police Department revealed they received a call at around 6:22 p.m. Monday about a man who was unconscious in the Ramada Inn parking lot on Tuckahoe Avenue.

When EMTs arrived, DMX was not breathing and had no pulse. They immediately began chest compressions and gave him oxygen.

An eyewitness told responders DMX ingested some sort of powder before falling unconscious. There are reports DMX was given Narcan intravenously, which is used as an antidote for narcotic overdoses.

Police did not release the name of the victim, confirming only he was a 45-year-old man who lives in Mount Kisco.

DMX and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and was listed in stable condition. The AP reports he was released today.

The rapper denies taking drugs, saying he only recalls shortness of breath before the incident. A family member says DMX requested his asthma inhaler just before he fell unconscious.

DMX has had multiple arrests previously for animal cruelty, resisting arrest, reckless driving, drug possession and identity falsification.

The "Party Up (Up In Here)" singer was arrested In June in New York City for failure to pay child support just before he was scheduled to perform at Radio City Music Hall.

The New York City Sheriff's Department told WPIX-TV at the time of his arrest that DMX had $400,000 total of unpaid child support.
