AMC has added a new cast member to the first live-action version of writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon's cult Vertigo Comics hit, Preacher, in 2016. In the adaptation by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, will Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley) meet Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper)?

As we previously mentioned here, Preacher follows Jesse Custer (Cooper), a man of the cloth, who loses his faith after being possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis. A hybrid of angel and demon, Genesis takes control of Preacher, causing him to unwillingly kill his entire congregation and flatten his church. With newfound powers, Custer journeys across the U.S., with his ex-lover Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga) and the hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy (Joe Gilgun), to find God.

Adapted by writer/director duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This is the End), Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) will serve as showrunner for the horror/drama series and has already written the highly antiquated pilot. The first trailer of Preacher made its debut in 2015.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Watchmen actor will play a major character from the comic book series in the AMC drama. In the Vertigo comics series, Odin happens to be a member of the local KKK branch. Jesse unexpectedly becomes his enemy after he catches Odin having sex with a mannequin made out of meat products. Let's see how Rogen and Goldberg adapt that scene on AMC!

Odin is described as, "a small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in Annville County, Texas. The chief employer in town, Odin runs Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family-operated slaughterhouse business."

After its screening at The SXSW Film Festival in March, Preacher is expected to premiere on AMC sometime summer 2016.
