Will Marvel's Agent Carter return for a Season 3 on ABC? With Peggy Carter cancellation rumors growing, will Haley Attwell leave the superhero business and join Shawn Ashmore for the Conviction pilot?

As we previously mentioned, the second season follows Peggy Carter as she becomes dedicated to the fight against the new atomic age threats. In the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home, and maybe even find a new love, Carter is about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood masks a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

According to TV Line, the Cinderella actress has landed a major role in Conviction, a drama pilot in the development stages. In the plot synopsis, Atwell is a brilliant-but-rebellious daughter of a Clinton-like political family. The daughter finds herself forced into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. With her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts, she has two weeks to examine cases and find credible suspicion that the wrong person may actually have been convicted of a crime.

Deadline reports,The Following actor will play the role of Sam. The assistant district attorney, Sam (Ashmore) isn't pleased that the daughter has taken the job he wants. Though she acts as the boss of Los Angeles' Conviction Integrity Unit, Sam doesn't know she was blackmailed into taking the position.

Because ABC has greenlit Marvel's Most Wanted, we can only speculate that Marvel's Agent Carter may be in the back-burner. If Conviction is picked up, 22 episodes is a lot more work than a limited 10 episodes. But if Agent Carter gets renewed and Conviction gets picked up, sources say scheduling will worked out with Atwell. We anxsiouly await for confrimation but as we all know, ratings will be a deciding factor.

The second season of Agent Carter has three episodes left. Two of them will air on February 23.

Readers, do you think ABC will cancel Agent Carter?
