'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers: Twitter Reacts Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira's Richonne!

AMC continues with the mid-Season 6 premiere of The Walking Dead. Twitter had lots to say as Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) witnessed the shocking twist between him and the walker slayer, Michonne (Danai Gurira) as they finally became Richonne.

In our previous recap, Jessie and her youngest son were devoured by the walker horde. Because Jessie was holding onto Carl, Rick had to chop her hand off. Though Michonne (Danai Gurira) drove her sword into Ron, he fired off a shot, hitting Carl in the eye. With his son in the infirmary, Rick had enough and started hacking away at the walkers. Knowing Rick was fighting for them, the community joined Rick as they took their last stand against the herd to save Alexandria.

In our recent recap, two months had passed since the lake of fire incident. While Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Rick were driving around town, searching for food and supplies, Spencer and Michonne dealt with Deanna coming back as a walker. As Spencer stabbed his dead mother, Daryl and Rick got their butts handed to them by a man named Jesus. Returning home, Rick and Michonne had passionate sex before they were rudely interrupted by Jesus, who came with a warning.

In an interview with TV Line, Lincoln describes the intimate scene, "Certainly, people have been waiting for so long for this to happen. When we [shot it] we wanted it to have a feeling like these two great friends just looked at each other and realized, "Of course." It was just natural... And Michonne has been a mother figure and best friend to Carl for so long. And she saved Rick's life and Carl's life on countless occasions. There's something rather moving about these two warriors getting together"
