'The Walking Dead' Danai Gurira Offers Michonne Tips On Surviving Zombie Apocalypse [VIDEO]

Michonne is undoubtedly one of the strongest survivors on The Walking Dead, and it looks like the woman who portrays her has been taking notes from the character. Danai Gurira has just weighed in on what would be the best zombie-proof shelter in case of a zombie apocalypse!

Gurira was a recent guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the host asked her for her thoughts on where would be the best place to avoid zombies.

"It's an island right? You get there, you clear it out, and you chill," Gurira said. "You figure out how to sustain yourself through agricultural means, you know."

Colbert immediately joked about taking down notes from the expert and pointed that it would probably be best to also have Michonne's katana. When Colbert asked how she got her "katana skills," Gurira admitted that it takes a lot of hard work.

"I had to obtain them, and it's a constant journey," she said.

But has she thought about possibly using Michonne's katana when walking around New York, Colbert inquired.

"You just can't use it legally, unfortunately," Gurira joked.

Although you won't be seeing Gurira take on New York with a katana, Michonne will definitely continue fighting in The Walking Dead, especially now that the character has something to live for. The latest episode of TWD Season 6 featured a jaw-dropping ending where Michonne and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) were finally getting romantic.

The twist may have surprised viewers, but The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple claims that he had been planning "Richonne" for a long time.

"It was a story I was interested in pursuing for a long time, even before I was running the show," he said. "Then, starting Season 4, my overall goal was to bring them to a unique place of respect and intimacy, possibly leading to romance."
