'Airlift' Star Akshay Kumar's First Look From 'Rustom' Revealed [PICTURE]

After giving the audience a real-life experience to commit to memory through his film Airlift, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is back with another film Rustom. Inspired by an actual incident, Kumar announced the first glimpse of his look in the film on Twitter.

Kumar tweeted, "Decorated officer. Devoted family man. Defending his honour. His name? RUSTOM. Know his story on 12 Aug. Rustom First Look." In the picture, Kumar is seen posing as navy officer Rustom Pavri. It's perhaps Kumar's forte that he gets into the skin of the character and manages to look completely different from his last release. His intense looks in the image nowhere relate the film with any of his prior releases.

Produced by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, Rustom is Kumar and Pandey's third collaboration post-Baby and Special 26. The romantic thriller has been set in the '50s and is directed by debutante Tinu Suresh Desai. Besides Kumar, 'Rustom' also stars Esha Gupta, Ileana D'Cruz, Pavan Malhotra, Sachin Khedekar and Arjan Bajwa.

There are two big releases due for release on Aug. 12, 2016. Apart from Rustom, Ashutosh Gowarikar's Mohenjo Daro is also slated to release on the same day. Must say, a tough period for box-office collections.

In addition to Rustom, there are other projects that would soon keep Kumar busy. The 48-year-old actor is likely to start shooting for Namastey England in August this year. Confirming about the same, director Vipul Shah told Catch News, "We have locked the script for Namastey England and we plan to go on floors in August 2016. Akshay Kumar will essay the character of a guy from Punjab. We plan to wrap up the shoot for the film by December 2016."

Shah also clarified that Namastey England is not a sequel to Namastey London and is a completely different and new story. The makers are currently in talks with actress Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead in the film. Besides, the actor is also featuring in Robot 2 along with Rajinikanth. Indeed, 2016 seems to be a hectic year for Kumar.
