Jessica Lange has unfortunately upheld her decision to step down from American Horror Story, but the big star from the past season will at least come back to fill the empty spot the two-time Oscar winner left behind. Lady Gaga, who played Countess Elizabeth in the Hotel season and won a Golden Globe for her creepy performance, will be back later this year in the Ryan Murphy anthology series!

Two months after picking up her first Golden Globe for acting (and barely a week after losing her first Academy Award nomination, though that one was for her songwriting), Gaga has confirmed to New York's radio station Z100 that she will in fact return for the sixth season, her second one on the show.

It's still unclear what kind of role she will be playing (it's unlikely that she'll return as the Countess vampire, though not impossible), but hopefully she'll get a lot of screen time on this one, too!

In the meantime, Collider recently spoke to Angela Bassett, an AHS veteran who shared a now-iconic sex scene with Gaga in Hotel, and she confirmed she would be coming back to the series as well.

"I will be back... I think I might be psychic. I think," said Bassett regarding her upcoming role. "But it can all change, we don't start filming until June this year, so anything is possible and everything can change between now and then."

Bassett and Gaga are the only two stars confirmed to return for the upcoming season, though it's expected that people like Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates will also return and hopefully others like Matt Bomer and Evan Peters.

The new season probably won't premiere until the fall, and the topic is still unclear after the previous Murder House, Asylum, Coven and Freak Show seasons besides Hotel, which was the first season that didn't include Lange.
