USA's 'Colony' S01E09 'Zero Day' Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies Premiere Recap

USA Network continues with the premiere of their sci-fi drama, Colony. In episode 9, are Will (Josh Holloway) and Katie Bowman (Sarah Wayne Callies) ready to figure out what lies behind Zero Day?

On Day 366. a young by mourns for his mother, just like the rest of the world pays tribute to the dead. The military police storm in, fighting with the locals. The drones fly over a city on fire.

At a crime scene, Beau (Carl Weathers) and Will realize the whole place is going to Hell as a red hat is hung as a traitor. While Proxy Snyder (Peter Jacobson) has to deal with the riots, Beau and Will try to convince him to take a run through The Wall. Unfortunately, thy have to be supervised by a red hat.

Katie meets with Broussard (Tory Kittles) at an abandoned store. Mr. Burgess (Adrian Pasdar) notices Madeline (Amanda Righetti) crying over a memory. After passing a checkpoint, Will and Beau travel deep underground. 

Snyder then meets with Burgess, who wasn't invited to the VIP's arrival. There are daggers at hand as Snyder thinks there is a traitor in the mix. Broussard its with the other cell, Morgan (Thora Birch) and BeeBee (Victor Rasuk). After Broussard vouches for Katie, the cell reveals the VIP is coming in through the metro. 

As Madeline stands up to her boss, Will and Beau have arrived at their destination outside the wall. Looking over the wasted cityscape, Will spots thousands of abandoned cars parked on the streets.The two start a fake shootout as Will pretends to be in pursuit of a rebel. The red hat picks up their clue, just like they planned. 

Jennifer (Kathleen Rose Perkins) watches as Will and Beau continue their lies with Snyder. Upping the ante, Snyder has discovered a weak spot in the Wall. As Morgan shows the intel, Katie suspects something is up. Morgan shows a homemade drone, a bee that takes pictures and audio. The plan is to bomb the train and grab the VIP known as Hyperion. 

Meanwhile, Madeline gets a job promotion as Broussard teaches Katie how to use a silencer. Broussard warns Katie that there is coming back from the dark road she's heading. Will and Katie share a moment as the band plays at the bar. Can they get back to the way things were? The two kiss before Will leaves. 

While Will and Beau are deep underground, Snyder visits Burgess and has his wife arrested. Turns out Madeline was playing her all along. Katie says her goodbyes to her son, who suspects something is going on, and daughter. She learns the tutor gave an illustrated propaganda book to her daughter.

Will reveals to Katie that he has found a way to escape the colony. When Katie says no, he asks, "How long have you been spying on me?" The two argue as Katie asks Will to fight with her. Her plan is just as crazy as his.

Burgess shows Snyder who is teaming up against them. Beau has found purpose, says goodbye to Will, and makes his escape. Broussard and Katie shoot their way into the metro. The train detonates the bombs on the tracks, trapping a mysterious man in armor.
