Nathan Darrow to Reprise Role of Edward Meechum in 'House of Cards' Season 5?

Earlier this month, Netflix released all the 13 episodes of House of Cards Season 4 and fans of the American political thriller series saw the loss of one of their beloved character from the series -- Edward Meechum. Now, if reports are to be believed then Nathan Darrow may reprise his role of Meechum in House of Cards Season 5.

In House of Cards Season 4, we saw how the personal dispute between President Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) and First Lady Claire (played by Robin Wright) jeopardise the presidential campaign of the Underwoods. In those dark hours, Frank found solace in the company of Meechum, Frank's secret service agent. Just after Frank and Meechum spend the night talking at the White House, Meechum was shot during Lucas Goodwin's (played by Sebastian Arcelus) attempted assassination of Frank. And in order to save the president, Meechum came in between Frank and the bullet and lost his life then and there.

However, it looks like Meechum may come back in Season 5. Here is a twist: he may come just as a memory to Frank.

An article from Bustle states that Frank's bodyguard is, in fact, dead and buried, but as far as the House of Cards is concerned, we all have seen dead people coming back, but just in Frank's memory.

In Season 4, we saw how Frank sees Zoe Barnes (played by Kate Mara) and Peter Russo (played by Corey Stoll) when he is shot. In his hallucinations, he, in fact, has this bizarre threesome with Barnes and Russo. These unusual dreams set a precedent that if a character is dead in House of Cards, then that character is not entirely gone forever. Frank's dream could bring them back.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Darrow stated that he was sad to depart from his role of Meechum in House of Cards.

"I liked this end for him. He went out doing his job. He went out doing good."
