There is still no word on who will play the young Han Solo in the highly anticipated Star Wars standalone film about the Millennium Falcon captain's origin story, but it looks like Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton is actually willing to "kill" for the role! But are the casting rumors involving Egerton true or false?

Egerton, along with Eddie the Eagle costar Hugh Jackman, was a guest on The Jonathan Ross Show, where the young actor was asked to address the Han Solo casting rumors.

"I've heard this rumor, yes," Egerton admitted before stating that Han is truly a coveted role among his peer group.

"I've seen the stuff on the Internet, and I think any lad of my age would kill to play a part like that," he said, adding that he is enjoying the attention but has yet to hear from the producers.

"It's very, very flattering," Egerton said. "I have no idea if there's any truth in it, but, I mean, Lucasfilm, Disney, if there is, then you know where I am."

It is unclear whether Egerton meant that he hasn't actually met with the studio or if he is simply waiting for a callback on the role. It has previously been reported that the 26-year-old is one of three finalists for the Han Solo part, the other two actors being Alden Ehrenreich of Hail! Caesar and Transformers: Age of Extinction's Jack Reynor.

One of the three lucky stars may soon be announced to be the new Han Solo, however he wouldn't be getting much advice from the man who originally played the Star Wars character. Harrison Ford only had this to say to the new Han: "Talk to your director. Watch the movies. And welcome aboard. Make it your own."

The Han Solo movie is scheduled for release in 2018.
