A year after the death of Kit Harington's Jon Snow, the follow-up to Game of Thrones is just a few weeks away. Fans are trying to find possible spoilers everywhere because, as of last season, the show has caught up with the books they're based on. Getting fans excited, David Benioff, Amanda Peet's husband and co-showrunner of the HBO epic series, is saying season 6 is the best so far.

Entertainment Weekly recently talked to Benioff and co-showrunner Dan Weiss about what fans can expect from the upcoming show, which is the most secretive so far. Apparently, the two just watched the (almost) final cuts of the entire ten-episode saga. Tthey're pretty proud of what they've achieved.

"Usually there's an episode or two we're kind of nervous about, that didn't turn out as well as we hoped. This season there is not a weak episode," said Benioff. "We're always reluctant to say it's 'the best season yet' because so much of that is in the eyes of the beholder [...] But that's my sense -- watching them all together now, this is the best one we've done. It's also the one I'm proudest of, because it was the hardest."

In other words, it's officially time to get excited about the upcoming events of the fantasy series!

Contrary to other seasons, where fans could read the books or check the A Song of Ice and Fire wikis to see what they could expect, nobody knows anything about what will happen. Trailers have been scarce and have raised more questions than they've answered. In the meantime, fans continue to hope for Jon Snow to revive after being stabbed to death on last season's finale.

Days back, HBO announced they wouldn't be releasing screeners for reviewers, after last year the first four episodes of the season were leaked days before the premiere.

The Game of Thrones season 6 will premiere all over the world on 24.
