When films with an ensemble cast release on the same date, it not only leaves the audience perplexed wondering what to watch, but also gives the producers a run for their money. Latest reports have revealed that Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn's Shivaay will be colliding at the box office this Diwali.

Both the films will be releasing on the same date. There were rumours of a change in the film's release date, but Johar firmly clarified through the social network that the film is due for release in Diwali. Looks like, the friendship between Johar and Devgn is not going to help in making any change.

According to Bollywood Life, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been scripted, directed and produced by Johar. The film features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor, and is due for release on Oct. 28, 2016. The first look of the film will be unveiled in August. On the other hand, directed and produced by Devgn, Shivaay seems to be Devgn's special project. It also stars Sayesha Saigal, who is making her Bollywood debut with this film. Last year in May, the first glimpse of Shivaay was revealed via Twitter.

In 2015, the box-office clash between Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty's Dilwale was a huge setback for the collections as it divided the viewership. Besides, this year the films of many A-list starrers will be colliding at the box-office on Fridays.

Ace filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's much-awaited directorial Mohenjo Daro, featuring Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, are due for release on Aug. 12. Besides, the two Khans will be also battling at the box-office as Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Salman Khan's Sultan are having an Eid release. The competition is undoubtedly intense. Hence, it will be interesting to observe the collections this time.
