Twista Arrested on Drug Charges Before a Show in Indiana

MStars News has learned that Chicago rapper, Twista, was arrested last week for marijuana right before his show in Indiana. According to ABC 7, Twista, whose real name is Carl Terrell Mitchell, was arrested last Thursday night on drug charges while on his way to perform at a club in Indiana.

A police officer smelled the weed after pulling the rapper over. The Porter County sheriff's office claimed that the black Rolls-Royce was stopped because it was following too closely to an SUV. The driver of the Rolls-Royce claimed that they were following the SUV so closely because they knew the people inside of the vehicle.

The driver claimed that they were driving Twista to a show that was scheduled at Big Shots bar in South Haven, Indiana, police revealed. The driver also revealed that they were smoking weed inside of the car.

After officers searched the car and found the marijuana, none of the men inside of car would confess who it belonged to so they were all arrested.

Twista's appearance was probably going to produce a large crowd. More cops had been out before the scheduled concert because there had been issues at the bar where Twista was headed.

"The information we received regarding the two [artists] booked at Big Shots (Twista on March 24 and Montana of 300 on March 25) alleged they would bring a large crowd to the area," Porter County Sheriff David Reynolds said. "In the past, violence had erupted at these rap artists' concerts."

Twista, along with the driver, Johnnie Euell, and the two passengers, Michael Alton Moore and Darrin Jamar Woody, were each charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. A judge ordered a $500 cash bond for each of the four men.

After his arrest, Twista claimed that cops should be focused on more violent crimes instead of arresting someone for weed. He also didn't allow his arrest to ruin his weekend events. Below Twista performs his hit song "Overnight Celebrity."
