Nick Carter is getting off the hook easy for belting a bouncer in Key West, Florida, earlier this year: MStars News has learned the singer's only punishment is community service.

According to TMZ, Carter's battery charge for fight will be dropped if he completes 25 hours of community service in the next six months. The Backstreet Boy also owes a little under $300 in fines.

According to police reports, in January a  bartender at the Hog's Breath Saloon refused to serve Carter and a friend, who then became aggressive. The bar's staff repeatedly told both men to leave. Carter grabbed a bouncer and punched him.

The community service might seem like the former Dancing With the Stars contestant is getting off lightly. But the father-to-be is still facing a civil lawsuit from the bouncer he got in a fight with.

Carter and his wife, Lauren Kitt Carter, are expecting their first child sometime soon -- hopefully Carter completes his service before he arrives.

The couple revealed that sex of their child during Carter's time on Dancing With the Stars last season. The couple shocked their fans when they opened a giant box containing a dozen blue balloons.

Carter and his wife got married in April 2014, in Santa Barbara, California. His former bandmates AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, and Brian Littrell were all in attendance.

During his time on Dancing With the Stars, Carter and his dance partner, Sharna Burgess, were defeated by Bindi Irwin for the Mirrorball Trophy. Irwin and her dance partner Derek Hough took home a perfect score after she dedicated her last dance to her late father, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.
