AMC aired from the highly anticipated mid-Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. Twitter had lots to say about Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) meeting Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his baseball bat, wrapped in barbed wire, "Lucille?"

In our previous recap, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James) went off in search of Carol, while Daryl l(Norman Reedus) left Alexandria to seek revenge for Denise's death. Unfortunately, with Glenn (Steven Yuen) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) captured by the Saviors, Dwight had the upper-hand and shot Daryl at point-blank range. Rick came back to Alexandria empty-handed, but only to hear Maggie screaming in pain.

In our recent recap, with Maggie (Lauren Cohan)'s health, Rick and the group needed to get her to the Hilltop community, but the roads were blocked by The Saviors. Arriving in the nick of time, Morgan saved Carol (Melissa McBride) as he shot down her stalker. Finally captured by the Saviors, Rick and the others met with their leader, Negan. In the cliffhanger, Negan beat someone from Rick's team to death with Lucille, but we don't know which one.

As transcribed by Entertainment Weekly,  during The Talking Dead, showrunner Scott Gimple explains the cliffhanger, "The end of the story is what people saw. And when we reveal who was on the receiving end there, that's going to be the start of another story. The kickback effects from that, what it makes everyone into, how people react, how the world changes for everyone, that's the next part of the story."

Check out what Twitter had to say:

@yonatanal862 tweets, "Just finished watching #TheWalkingDeadFinale and I cant wait until October!"

@TheEvELLEution adds, "Loving the suspense with Negan chosing a victim #TheWalkingDeadFinale"

@KattyB3 writes, "That season finale though... Totally loving the choice for Negan, & that ending was KILLER. Pun intended. #TWD #TheWalkingDeadFinale"

@cape_town_brad  mentions, "neither my body nor soul are ready for #TheWalkingDeadFinale tonight...can't deal."

@TonyFiggs can't wait though, "Don't get me wrong. Loved the last 10 minutes of the #TheWalkingDeadFinale last night. Come on. Fans should not have to wait for that answer"

@ScrappySeconds states, "#TheWalkingDeadFinale messed me up man! I need just one more episode! Just one more please!!!"

The Walking Dead will return on AMC for Season 7.
