Glamour recently released a special plus-size issue, meant to celebrate different body types and show a positive image -- but the magazine's effort back-fired when one Comedy Central star spoke out against them. Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Amy Schumer criticized being included in the issue without her consent -- because she's not even in the plus-size range.

Last Tuesday, the Inside Amy Schumer star shared a snap from Glamour's plus-size issue where she, alongside Melissa McCarthy, Adele and Ashley Graham, was mentioned as one of the "women who inspire us." It seems the magazine not only added her name without her consent, but it was also inaccurate: she's several sizes smaller than the "plus-size" minimum.

"I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me," Schumer wrote on the social network. "Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous [sic]"

The Trainwreck star took to Twitter to share the same message, then posting a clip of herself running in the beach while wearing a bikini, adding that "we are done with these unnecessary labels."

Not long afterwards, Cindi Leive, Glamour's editor-in-chief, responded to Schumer's criticism in a series of tweets, pointing out that, while the star had been part of the plus-size issue, the magazine had never outright said she belonged to the category.

Apologizing for the implications the magazine's words could have had, Leive said the reason Schumer was part of the issue is because her "longtime message of body positivity" was seen as "inspiring."

Schumer's reaction to being included in the issue has gotten its fair share of criticism, however.

In any case, this is hardly the first time someone takes issue with the term "plus-sized," as stars like Melissa McCarthy and Tyra Banks have spoken against the wording, because of the negative connotation it might have on women.
