The Game of Thrones season 6 is finally reaching the small screen in less than a month, and while fans of George R.R. Martin's tale of Westeros' power struggle await impatiently for some answers (that means you, Jon Snow), HBO is planning a new post-show twist. From now on, the subscription network will host its own recap show, with Grantland's Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan!

According to a recent press release, sports columnist and author Bill Simmons will be behind the screens for this new project, entitled After the Thrones, as part of a larger deal with HBO. Episodes of the recap show will be airing on the subscription network's streaming platforms for now, namely HBO Now and HBO Go, but they could eventually make their way into the programming lineup, and the dates "will be announced as they are confirmed."

The first episode will air on the Monday after each new episode of the new Game of Thrones season.

As Variety reports, this isn't the first Westeros-themed rodeo involving Simmons, Ryan and Greenwald. In Simmons' old site, Grantland, the two commentators hosted a podcast entitled Watch the Thrones, in which the two discussed what happened and theories regarding possible outcomes for characters.

While Game of Thrones has become a pop culture icon since it first began on HBO in 2011, this is the first time the network jumps in the recap bandwagon. It follows the footsteps of another popular fantasy show, The Walking Dead: AMC hosts a weekly Talking Dead recap show.

After the Thrones will be the first venture in a series of upcoming programming, one of which will be a weekly sports talk show hosted by Simmons, though the name and specs for that one are still to be determined. Simmons and HBO are also building The Ringer, a new website described as a "digital adventure," where the star will be presenting new content, some of it also involving Greenwald and Ryan.

The Game of Thrones season 6 premieres on HBO on April 24, while After the Thrones will air on the network's on-demand platforms the next day.
