The release of the live-action The Jungle Book remake is just a few days away, and its director, Jon Favreau (who brought the first two Iron Man films to life), is already thinking of his possible next Disney project. Taking its cue from beloved park Disneyland, the Marvel filmmaker wants to have an old dream come true: making a Magic Kingdom movie.

Favreau is currently through press rounds with The Jungle Book, and during a recent event in Los Angeles, Collider took the opportunity to ask about whether his long-awaited project for the Magic Kingdom movie was still on the table.

"Yeah, I would love to do that. We have scripts for it. We've planned, we've done illustrations. The question really becomes about Disney, with the way that they're working out their catalog of material," Favreau said, then pointing out to recent examples of Disney reviving its classics, such as Maleficent, the live-action Cinderella and his own revival of Rudyard Kipling's tale.

In other words, it seems the actor who plays Happy Hogan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still pretty psyched about Magic Kingdom!

While recent retellings of Disney classics have fared well with audiences (even early reviews for Jungle Book are favorable, so far holding 100% on Rotten Tomatoes), movies based on Disney parks haven't done that great. While the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have found enough success that the franchise is getting its fifth installment next year, other projects like the Eddie Murphy-led Haunted Mansion and last year's Tomorrowland haven't had the same luck.

Still, considering Favreau has been a key component in one of the biggest Disney-owned franchises, it would make sense the company would entrust him with such an iconic brand as the world from Disney's parks.

According to Slash Film, even while the project's in the background, the actor/director is thinking about it -- in fact, he claims one of the reasons he "explored" animation technology on Jungle Book was to perhaps use it in the future Magic Kingdom film.

In any case, Favreau's live-action take on The Jungle Book will reach theaters this April 15.
