James McAvoy has just revealed that he would like to come back as Professor X!

McAvoy, who plays the young Charles Xavier in X-Men: Apocalypse, recently spoke to L'internaute about the film.

Apocalypse may be the last film in the franchise to feature Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, but the Joy actress has recently admitted that she is "dying" to return as the blue-skinned mutant. McAvoy addressed Lawrence's eagerness to play Raven again, stating that he is happy to know that his costar wants to do more X-Men movies.

"She's always said to me that she would think about it so yeah, that sounds great," McAvoy said before admitting that he enjoys Lawrence's company.

"I hope she does, because I love working with Jennifer," he said, adding that he considers the Hunger Games star as a good friend.

"You know, we've been like an extended sort of family, in a weird way, for six or seven years now," McAvoy shared, explaining how the X-Men cast became close.

"Every two years, we get back together and hang out making a movie, then in six months' time or a year's time, we all go on the road promoting it, and we see each other again," he said, confirming that he is eager to keep working with Lawrence.

"I'd be really sad not to see her every couple of years," McAvoy said.

But is there any chance that he would reprise his role as Professor X in future X-Men movies?

"If they want me to, I'll do more, yeah," McAvoy immediately said.

Apocalypse is the last X-Men film in McAvoy's contract. It will also be the final movie for Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult. There is no word yet on whether the actors will be given new contracts for future X-Men flicks.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters on May 22.
