Making A Murderer has divided the nation as viewers take sides on the infamous case. The Netflix series that has introduced the world to Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey has left a bad taste in the mouths of many. After viewing Manitowoc County's wrongdoing in the case, many viewers have spoken out against them publicly and now emails bashing and threatening law enforcement has been released.

Watching the Netflix series immediately brought on empathy for many fans towards the Avery family. Throughout the case, many fans saw the treatment the Avery family was receiving from law enforcement and now they are striking back.

According to Bustle, fans are on a mission to let Manitowoc County police know that how they handled the case was entirely wrong. Viewers have taken matters into their own hands by bashing law enforcement and calling them out for being corrupt ruining the Avery family.

The murder of photographer Teresa Halbach was big news nationally and Manitowoc County wanted to make sure that someone was brought to justice as quickly as possible. Unfortunately for Avery and Dassey, they ended up taking the fall after poor investigation techniques landed them behind bars since 2007.

Much of the public outrage is aimed at Manitowoc County Sheriff Rob Hermann. A Wisconsin resident ripped into the department sharing his outrage with how the case was handled. The resident stated that he is ashamed to be from the state.

"Your entire sheriff dept are the ones who should be tossed in jail ... it makes me ashamed to be from Wisconsin and you can bet I won't be in a hurry to ever drive past your cesspool of evil. Ever ... God will deal with everyone who had a hand in this mess, you can be sure of that."

Other emails told the sheriff's department to "rot in hell," provoking Manitowoc County Board Chairman Jim Brey to send an email asking for support for the police.

"Some of the emails, in my opinion, have been borderline threatening," wrote Brey. "Not to myself but to members of our law enforcement community. I have never been a big paranoid person... but after one of the emails I received contained the line and I quote 'ROT IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY YOU EVIL BASTARD!' I felt that at the very least, the Sheriff's Department should place these on file in case something shows up later."
