‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7: Kat Graham's Departure Will Bring Back Nina Dobrev?

The Vampire Diaries' ongoing Season 7 suffered a massive setback when Kat Graham announced her sudden departure from the show. Now, if a character like Bennett can leave the show after season 8, then there is a place to fill and it makes us believe that series lead actress Nina Dobrev may return to the ongoing series as Elena.

The 26-year-old, who played the character of a witch, Bonnie Bennett, told Us Weekly that Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries will be her last season.

"I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."

It looks like that Graham's character will likely be killed off in the show but before that she will be seen doing many intense scenes with her co-stars.

"I think the biggest episodes I've ever had are 20 [airing April 29] and 21 [airing May 6]. It's pretty major for the character -- huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool s--t!" she further added.

HollywoodLife reported that Graham's sudden decision to leave the show came in light when it came the news that there will be no more TVD after season eight. And after much conjectures, the season eight got the green light from The CW.

On The Vampire Diaires, getting killed off from the show does not always mean that the character is seriously dead. It has been seen earlier that the characters come back to life after they have been announced dead. Now, if Bonnett leaves the show then there is a chance that Dobrev will reprise her role as Elena.

Not only the fans of Dobrev, but even the team behind the camera think that Dobrev should return to the show.

"Not if we're lucky," TVLine's Michael Ausiello shared. "According to executive producer Julie Plec, the hope is still to bring Nina Dobrev's character back for the end of the series."

It would be really interesting to see if Dobrev will return to TVD.

The Vampire Diaries airs on Fridays on The CW at 8 p.m. ET.
